Superintendent Wright's Message about the successful passing of Issue 3 - CPS 10 Year Levy Renewal
Posted by Office of Marketing and Communication on 11/10/2022
Dear CPS Staff, Colleagues and Supporters,
I was thrilled to see Cincinnati’s voters show up, heavily support and pass Cincinnati Public Schools’ ten-year levy renewal. Tax payers have recognized our commitment to preparing students for life and this levy renewal will provide $51.5 million per year to CPS, which is crucial to supporting students and staff.
We are grateful to our district’s voters who, once again, voted to support Cincinnati Public Schools and our priorities that fall under Academics, Behavior and Culture. Since my arrival at CPS, the community’s commitment to supporting academic achievement, personal well-being and career readiness of our students has been impressive and much appreciated. The ten-year renewal of this $51.5 million levy will support our key priorities under our three E’s- Enrollment, Employment and Enlistment.
These priorities provide expanded choices and opportunities for our students and families, support our students’ pursuit of post-graduation pathways in college, military or career, and ensure that our district is a destination for all Cincinnati families.
It is also an acknowledgment that the voters of this district believe that CPS is headed in the right direction. Every day, our nearly 6,000 staff support a culture of excellence in all our schools and departments.
As we continue the journey forward with a focus on preparing our students for life, I know through the support of our school board, every staff member and each stakeholder, we will embody the #IamCPS spirit of getting back to the basics.
With midterms, end-of-course exams, and the holiday season ahead in November and December, we hope the spirit of renewal and the support of our community inspires you to realize our ambitious goals on behalf of our students.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of every CPS student, their families and our staff.
Yours in service,
Iranetta Rayborn Wright
