Cincinnati Public Schools Students Named National Merit Scholars
About 16,000 students across the country were named semi-finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corp., seventeen of which were CPS students.
Less than one percent of the nation’s high school seniors are accepted into this prestigious group. Students are selected based on results of the 2021 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
As semifinalists, the students are eligible to receive $2,500 in scholarships awarded by National Merit and others by colleges, universities and businesses.
About 15,000 semifinalists are expected to advance to the finalist level in February.
Sixteen of the CPS students attend Walnut Hills High School, with one attending Spencer Center.
