Spencer Center Winter and Spring Shadowing Program

Spencer Center for Gifted and Exceptional Children is thrilled to open our Winter and Spring Shadowing program. The program provides an opportunity for prospective students to shadow a Spencer Center student throughout the school day.

Lower School Shadows (grades 3-4) arrive at 9:15 am and are picked up at 12:15 pm. Lower School Shadows (grades 5-6) arrive at 9:15am and are picked up at 3:00 pm. Upper School Shadows (grades 7-12) arrive at 9:15 am and are picked up at 3:00 pm.

Would you like your child to visit the Wolfpack? We’d love to host them! If you are interested, please complete the following:

  1. Sign up for a spot here (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursdays beginning late January and ending in early April). You will receive a welcome email 3-5 school days prior to your shadow date.

  2. Complete this Google Form with details about your child so that we can carefully select a host student ambassador who shares your child’s interests.

  3. Before arrival, complete this emergency medical form and bring it with you.

  4. Pack a lunch for your child, or have your child’s CPS lunch account number printed with them (it can be used in our cafeteria).

  5. Parents should bring their students to 2825 Alms Place, arriving at 9:15am, and enter the main doors by the flagpole. Pick up time is 12:15pm for grades 3-4 and 3:00pm for grades 5-12. Upon pickup, a Student Shadowing excuse letter will be given to the parent to provide to your child’s school.

Parents or guardians are also welcome to join us on an adult tour of Spencer! Please check our school tour information and calendar here and then call the Spencer Center main office at 513-363-5800 to schedule. All tours begin at 10:00 am and are for adults only.

Coming Soon! We will be hosting our first Spencer Open House, March 4, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Please register here.
