Women on the Move Conference Inspires Shroder Students

Women on the Move Local leaders are inspiring the next generation of young women. Around 20 influential women joined the 10th Anniversary Women on the Move Conference at Shroder High School.

Special guests included keynote speaker and the first African-American woman elected to the Ohio Supreme Court, Justice Melody J. Stewart, CPS Chief Academic Officer Shakeatha Butler, Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney and CPS Board of Education Member Dr. Kareem Moffett. Women on the Move  

“There’s so much out there to know and learn and the more you know and the more you learn, the better decisions you’ll make along the way,” Justice Stewart said.

Music, dance and words of encouragement filled the air as presenters, performers and breakout sessions allowed students to ask questions and engage in conversation.

“It’s incredible just seeing these women who have been through trials and tribulations. They are here showing us that we can succeed no matter what,” senior Ciara Smith-Garrett said.
