CPS Turns Red for Opening Day Parade

Rounding Vine and heading for home! It may be Spring Break for students and staff, but the Cincinnati Public Schools’ family is certainly in session for Cincinnati’s favorite unofficial holiday.

CPS athletes from across the district showed up and showed out for the 2023 Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade. Students participating in baseball and softball gathered around the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund truck with Superintendent Iranetta Wright and members of the owner’s family and the legendary Mr.Redlegs as they marched down the road.

"Cincinnati is a city full of traditions, and I am thrilled to experience my first, of many, Reds Opening Day Parade, alongside some of our incredible student-athletes as they prepare for the spring sports season,” said Superintendent and CEO Iranetta Wright. “Together with our CPS students, families and staff, we will be rooting for the Reds today.”

The parade began at Findlay Market and traveled down Race Street until concluding at the Taft Theatre.
