First Financial, Dream Builders University Donate $3500 to CPS School

Ethel M. Taylor Academy recently received a $3,500 donation from First Financial Bank in partnership with Dream Builders University.

"We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from First Financial," said Principal Pia Headen. "This funding has allowed us to provide positive experiences for our students that they may not have otherwise had."

The donation supports educational outings such as a trip to the Center of Science and Industry and a screening of Wakanda Forever.

CEO of Dream Builders University, LaMarquè Ward was thrilled at the chance to give back to a school in the neighborhood he grew up in.

“You can't build what you can't see,” said Ward. “We’re providing these students from this specific community access to an opportunity.”

Roddell McCullough, Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer at First Financial Bank, echoed Ward’s sentiment of leveling the playing field for urban schools.

“What we want to do is provide an opportunity for kids to have access to the same thing that kids at other schools, that may not be in the same financial situation, have access to,” said McCullough.
