Carson School Receives $5,000 Donation from Burlington Stores’ Grand Opening
Burlington Stores, through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, presented Carson School with a $5000 donation during the store’s Grand Opening Ribbon-Cutting Event.
In addition to Burlington Stores' leadership staff, Carson School Principal Dr. Terrez Thomas, Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) Chief Academic Officer Shakeatha Butler and CPS Board member Mary Wineberg were in attendance for the store’s opening.
“We are very grateful for this generous donation from Burlington,” said Dr. Thomas. “This donation will support so many of our first-grade teachers and specialists and I know they will use the funds on a number of new classroom items.”
Burlington is committed to supporting education through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. Each time Burlington opens a new store, Burlington celebrates by adopting and funding a local school in their store community.
“It’s great to see the community coming together and supporting our schools,” said Board Member Wineberg. “It was so exciting to see the faces of these teachers receiving the donation and to know we have a community that is willing to support our district.”
The new Burlington store is now open at 5555 Glenway Ave suite 550, Cincinnati, OH 45238.
