SPCA Program Receives Round of A-Paws from Students
Beagles are known for their friendly and curious nature, making them excellent companions for both children and adults. But one particular beagle named "Peanut" has taken her friendliness to the next level by visiting classrooms and providing students with a hands-on experience in a comfortable environment.
SPCA Cincinnati partnered with FamiliesFORWARD to bring the after-school humane education program to students at Bond Hill Academy, Carson School and Hays-Porter School. The hands-on program allows students to learn about caring for, approaching and interacting with animals. SPCA Cincinnati has also worked with students at Withrow University High School.
Peanut recently visited students at Bond Hill Academy where students demonstrated their knowledge of the WAG process — walk slowly, ask for permission and give their hand to the dog to sniff — on the loveable pup herself.
Peanut’s gentle nature and friendly demeanor have helped to break down barriers and create a positive environment for learning.
