Choosing the Right School

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. Cincinnati Public Schools offers many educational choices. So how can parents decide what's best for their child?

Consider three major areas:

  1. Your child's individual needs and progress
  2. School or program offerings that will meet your child's needs and interests
  3. How well the school is performing

Selecting a School

Many factors should be considered when choosing a school, such as a school's academic performance, its location or the student activities offered. This information is available for each school in the district.

CPS' Building Futures Dashboard

The Ohio Department of Education rates individual schools annually, issuing an Ohio Report Card for each school and a report card for the district as a whole. The ratings are based on students’ performance on state tests, and on attendance and graduation rates.
