College
The College Peer Leadership Collaborative (College PLC) program serves Cincinnati Public High School students by providing peer-delivered accessible college readiness tools, programming, and education via university partners as well as community resources. Each College PLC site is equipped with a College PLC Advisor (staff member from their building, with whom they meet at least twice a month in order to plan campaigns/events), as well as a budget to aid in the execution of these initiatives.
As is the case with all Peer Learning Collaboratives, CPS College PLC students serve as catalysts in their schools - pursuing and inspiring collective change in their buildings and in their communities. For the College PLC, this entails students becoming ambassadors of college-going knowledge and culture. Here, students lead the development and delivery of several events/campaigns that align with an overarching theme, referred to as the group's "Capstone". Co-captains from each PLC (selected by their peers) are invited to attend a district-wide PLC student Summit, and even have the opportunity to present their Capstone Project to the CPS Board! In Summation, if you are a high school student who is passionate about accessing college, and looking to hone your leadership skills, then this may be the collaborative for you!
Student Focus:
Participating students lead campaigns within and across their buildings, with the aim of fortifying college-going culture, as well as increasing the overall knowledgebase of post-secondary opportunities for their peers.
