At CPS, we recognize that our students are Cincinnati’s lifeblood of tomorrow — our city's future activists, business leaders, philanthropists, volunteers, and more. Transforming the culture of our schools cannot be accomplished by a single individual. The most successful school culture movements are led by teams of individuals working collaboratively to create effective and lasting change within each building: Men, Women, Career, College, Service Learning/ Philanthropy and Student Voice Collaboratives.
Working closely with their program advisors, a student "President" and "Vice President” will help lead their peer teams within each priority area to research, develop and implement student-level Capstone Projects (a project that will encourage students to identify a conflict/concern in their community and schools, do the research on their interested topics and present solutions). High School PLC teams also will join together in a peer leadership summit in the Fall and Spring to create strong district-wide connections between all PLCs and provide each PLC with the skills necessary to achieve success in their school-wide Capstone Projects.
Ultimately, we envision our PLCs inspiring the next generation with the courage and desire to become leaders who change the world, setting the stage for communities of care & trust and cultures of change.
The Leadership Collaboratives include Career, College, Girls to Women; M.O.R.E. (Men Organized, Respectful and Educated), Philanthropy, Speak Up Speak Out and Wellness.
