After your child visits the School-Based Health Center:
Parents are alerted when their student is seen in the SBHC
A follow-up communication occurs after the appointment
You may receive a call, message, or visit summary depending on the visit
Prescriptions or referrals will be discussed with you
Follow-up visits can be scheduled if needed

Our goal is to keep you informed while making care convenient and accessible for your child during the school day.

Step 5: Referral or Continued Care (If Needed)

Extra Information

If your child already has a Primary Care Provider (PCP), the SBHC does not replace them.
If your child is seen for something acute (like a sore throat, injury, etc.), care is coordinated not transferred.
Continued care through the SBHC is available, but it is optional.
Our staff helps coordinate next steps and ensure you understand any referrals made.
