About Your Child's School Clinic

Staff Roles

Nurse Practitioner (NP): Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice providers who lead medical care at the school clinic. They can evaluate symptoms, diagnose illnesses, provide treatment, prescribe medications when appropriate, and manage ongoing health conditions. NPs also determine when a student needs additional care or referral to another provider.

Registered Nurse (RN): Registered Nurses support student care by performing health assessments, assisting with treatments, administering medications as ordered, and providing health education. RNs help monitor students during visits and play a key role in care coordination and follow-up with families.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Licensed Practical Nurses assist with hands-on patient care under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse. LPNs help with vital signs, basic treatments, documentation, and ensuring students are comfortable and supported during their visit.

Medical Assistant: Medical Assistants help keep the clinic running smoothly by preparing exam rooms, taking basic health information, assisting providers during visits, and supporting clinic organization. They help ensure students are seen efficiently and safely throughout the school day.
