Health and Physical Education Curriculum Adoption

The Curriculum and Instruction Department is seeking community feedback as it aims to adopt new Health and Physical Education curriculums. These high-quality materials are recommended based on pilot teacher feedback, the must-haves developed by the Curriculum Council and adhere to all state requirements and CPS Board Policies.

The following “must haves” were developed by the P.E. Curriculum Council for Physical Education K-12 curriculum:

  • User friendly platform
  • Instructional materials that align with the curriculum
  • Lifelong fitness instructional materials
  • Differentiation and scaffolds to support diverse learners
  • Aligned to Ohio P.E. Standards with supports for state assessments

The following “must haves” were developed by the Health Curriculum Council for Health 7-12 curriculum:

  • Engaging hands-on project and activities
  • Engaging videos aligned to instructional units/lessons
  • Full integration with CPS platforms
  • Diversity positively represented
  • Instructional differentiation and scaffolds
  • Aligned to National Health Standards

Based on these qualifications, Cincinnati Public Schools recommends the adoption of SchoolHealth Physical Education curriculum and Goodheart-Willcox Health 7-12 curriculum. For each program, there is a link to provide feedback for our team to review as part of the adoption process. Your feedback is important to this process.
