International Jazz Festival
Activities Beyond the Classroom Presents The 4th Annual CPS International Jazz Festival at the Aronoff Center for the Arts in Cincinnati on Saturday, March 9th. The Jazz Festival will feature 145 students in grades 4th-12th from 24 different CPS schools. The special guest artist for the festival will be Japanese jazz violin superstar, Tomoko Omura. Ms. Omura will conduct masterclasses with CPS students in the afternoon and perform with CPS students at the evening concert.
Ms. Omura was named the #1 rising jazz violin star by Downbeat Magazine and currently performs all over the world.
The evening concert at the Aronoff Center P&G Theater is free and open to the public and no tickets are required.
The International Jazz Festival founder and director is Dr. Isidore Rudnick. Dr. Rudnick is a nationally respected arts administrator, music educator, jazz trombonist, conductor, arranger and composer. Dr. Rudnick is currently the Cincinnati Public Schools Fine & Performing Arts Manager.
