Support and Resources
At Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS), we believe our multilingual students succeed best when their families feel at home in our community. The Office of Second Language Acquisition provides critical support to help non-English speaking families adjust and thrive.
We assist families and schools in facilitating clear communication. We ensure that the following are in place to support multilingual families:
- Interpreter Services: Available for parent/teacher conferences, district events, team meetings (IAT, 504, MFE, IEP), and state tests.
- Document Translation: Many general district forms have already been translated in CPS’s top three (03) languages: Spanish, French and Arabic. In addition, CPS website allows for translation into multiple languages.
- Focus Communication: CPS uses this software to facilitate text communication between staff and families in a wide range of languages.

Enrollment and Getting Started
It’s easy! Multi-language assistance is integrated into both enrollment pathways: Online and In-Person either with bilingual staff or through interpreters.
- Online Route: Handled digitally through the Focus student information system.
- In-Person Route: Conducted directly at the Customer Care Center (2651 Burnet Avenue) and/or at any of the five Welcome Center sites.

Consider which language program is right for your child! Consult the CPS All Schools Guide below, to learn more about our dual language immersion program at the Academy of Multilingual and Immersion Studies (AMIS), language classes at the Academy of World Languages (AWL), the Fairview-Clifton German Language School, Language Enrichment and Academic Proficiency (LEAP) Academy, or newcomer programs at Roberts Academy, Aiken New Tech High School, Gilbert A.
