Automotive Undercar Technician Certificate
All Automotive classes are held at Cincinnati State and Technical College. The Automotive Undercar Technician Certificate prepares students for starting or advancing their career in the automotive service industry as a brake, suspension, steering, and alignment technician.
Current 11th graders who will be 12th graders in 2026-2027 and have state CCP eligibility* and scheduling room for 2 CCP courses onsite at Cincinnati State per semester.
*State eligibility requires at 2.75> GPA with a B or higher in Math and English OR a 3.0GPA
Students who complete the program successfully are prepared to earn the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications for A-4 (Suspension & Steering), A-5 (Brakes), and X-1 (Undercar Specialist Exhaust Systems).
Automotive Undercar Certificate Application
Please consider the following:
- Ten districtwide seats are available
- Students who are randomly selected will be notified by April (waitlist for students not selected)
- All classes are held at Cincinnati State and students attend half day
- Metro bus passes provided unless the student lives within walking distance
- Students will complete 4 CCP courses - two in the fall and two in the spring
- Tuition, textbooks and materials will be provided at no-cost to the student or their family

Each semester, students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA or higher to maintain enrollment in the program

Students remain enrolled in their home school and must meet that school’s graduation requirements

Students may still participate in home school experiences (prom, homecoming, extracurriculars) and graduate from their home school
