Phase 2: 2025-26

Carson School remains a preschool through grade 6 school. The attendance boundary is  updated, relocating students living on both sides of Beach Avenue east to Rees E. Price Academy and students living west of Rapid Run to Covedale School from Carson School.

Covedale School remains a preschool through grade 6 school. The attendance boundary is updated relocating students living west of Rapid Run to Covedale from Carson School.

Ethel M. Taylor Academy becomes the junior high school for the west corridor. Preschool- grade 6 students in the current Ethel M. Taylor Academy neighborhood boundary will attend Roll Hill School. Students may also apply to attend the junior high school via the school selection process. 

Ethel M. Taylor Academy will implement an Arts and Communication program. 

Gilbert A. Dater High School remains a grade 7-12 high school. A Welcome Center will be established to provide assistance, resources and support services to families, designed to serve newcomer and English Learner (EL) families. 

LEAP Academy will expand to become a preschool through grade 8 school, adding grade 7 in the 2025-26 school year and grade 8 in the 2026-27 school year. 

Mt. Airy School becomes a preschool through grade 5 school. Boundary lines will be updated, relocating students east of West North Bend Road and Thornhill Avenue to College Hill Academy.

Rees E. Price Academy remains a preschool through grade 6 school. The attendance boundary is updated, relocating students living on both sides of Beach Avenue east to Rees E. Price Academy from Carson School. 

Roll Hill School remains a preschool through grade 6 school, growing its enrollment by receiving preschool- grade 6 students currently enrolled at Ethel M. Taylor Academy. 

Sayler Park School becomes a preschool through grade 12 school in a phased approach, adding one grade each year beginning with grade 9 in the 2025-26 school year. 

An Early College program may be established through a partnership with a local college or university. 

Western Hills University High School becomes a 9-12 high school, with students in grades 7-8 attending the newly established junior high school at the current Ethel M. Taylor Academy. 

Aiken High School becomes a 9-12 high school, with students in grades 7-8 attending the newly established middle school at the current Pleasant Hill Academy.

College Hill Academy becomes a preschool to grade 5 school. Grade 6 students in the College Hill neighborhood boundary will attend the newly established middle school at the current Pleasant Hill Academy.

Hartwell School becomes a grade 4-8 middle school with students in grades 2-3 moving to Rising Stars at Carthage. A Welcome Center will be established to provide assistance, resources and support services to families, designed to serve newcomer and English Learner (EL) families. 

Hartwell School will provide STEM and Early Career Awareness programming.

Hughes STEM High School becomes a 9-12 high school, with students in grades 7-8 attending the newly established middle school at the current South Avondale School.

Pleasant Hill Academy becomes a middle school for grades 6-8 for grade 6 students currently enrolled at Pleasant Hill Academy, College Hill Academy and Winton Hills Academy, and grade 7 and 8 students currently enrolled at Aiken High School. Preschool to grade 5 students currently enrolled at Pleasant Hill Academy will attend College Hill Academy. 

Pleasant Hill Academy will provide social science and a social justice curriculum and Early Career Awareness programming. 

Rising Stars at Carthage becomes a kindergarten to grade 3 school, growing its enrollment by receiving grade 2-3 students from Hartwell School. 

Rockdale Academy becomes a preschool through grade 5 school, growing its enrollment by receiving preschool- grade 5 students from the current South Avondale School. 

South Avondale School becomes a middle school for grades 6-8 for grade 6 students previously enrolled at Frederick Douglass School, Rockdale Academy, and grade 7-8 students previously enrolled at Hughes STEM High School and Woodward Career Technical High School.  

South Avondale School will provide STEAM and Early Career Awareness programming.

Taft Elementary will become a Montessori school, with a phased  approach. For the 2025-26 school year, we will add an ages 3-6 Montessori Community. Current students may opt to join the Montessori program if their grade level has been added.

Taft will also become the host site for The Wrap, providing services and support to students and families including basic needs, education support, housing assistance and more.

Winton Hills Academy becomes a preschool through grade 5 school. Boundary lines will be updated, relocating Winton Hills neighborhood students from Pleasant Hill Academy. 

Woodward Career Technical High School becomes a 9-12 high school, with students in grades 7-8 attending the newly established middle school at the current South Avondale School.

In a Career and Technical Education (CTE) expansion, Automotive, Cosmetology and Entrepreneurship pathway programs may be established based on budget priorities.

Evanston Academy becomes the junior high school (grades 7-8) for the east corridor, with acceptance through the school selection process. Preschool-grade 4 students in the current Evanston Academy neighborhood boundary will attend Frederick Douglass School, and current 5th grade students will attend the newly established middle school at South Avondale School. 

Frederick Douglass School becomes a preschool through grade 5 school, growing its enrollment by receiving preschool- grade 5 students from the current Evanston Academy. Students currently enrolled in grade 6 will attend the newly established South Avondale Middle School. 

Withrow University High School becomes a 9-12 high school, with students in grades 7-8 attending the newly established junior high school at the current Evanston Academy. A Welcome Center will be established to provide assistance, resources and support services to families, designed to serve newcomer and English Learner (EL) families. 

Withrow High School would implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme framework, seeking verification and authorization from IB. In a Career and Technical Education (CTE) expansion, a Public Safety Academy will be established with a police, law, security and 911 focus. 

Taft Elementary will add “The Wrap,” providing services and support to students and families. Services may include basic needs and emergency assistance, education support, health and wellness, financial assistance and counseling, legal support, community and social services, outreach and education, technology and communication and housing assistance.   

The Zoo Academy is expanding to offer districtwide access to students via the school selection process.
