CPS Montessori High School Registration

Montessori High School 

All in-district students in Grade 6 currently enrolled at a CPS Montessori elementary school will automatically be entered into the School Selection Process to attend Clark Montessori High School or James N. Gamble Montessori High School based on their home address.

Students residing on the east are prioritized for Clark Montessori High School and students residing on the west are prioritized for James N. Gamble Montessori High School. Residence is based on home address. 

Students may also choose to apply to a different CPS high school during the School Selection Process. 

Current students enrolled at Clark Montessori High School or James N. Gamble Montessori High School do not have to reapply through the School Selection Process.

How Does It Work?

Prioritization is the same. Prioritization is given to applicants based on established Board policies to ensure each student has an equitable chance of being assigned to families first-choice schools. 

• Per board policy, the process continues to prioritize students according to sibling preference, same course of study, in-district and more.

East/West priority is still applicable based on the student’s home address.

• The location of the elementary school the student attended has no implications on the prioritization of the student’s application.
• Students who reside east of Interstate 75 will be prioritized for Clark Montessori High School
• Students who reside west of Interstate 75 will be prioritized into James N. Gamble Montessori High School
