Did You Know?

Ohio’s State funding formula calculates the base cost for every Cincinnati Public Schools student at $8,101, but the District only receives $2,992 per student or 36.93%! Why? Because of the wealth of the district -  an index calculated using CPS' property wealth, median income and federally adjusted gross income averages. According to the state, this means CPS has more opportunity to raise local funds so they lower the base cost formula per student from $8,101 per student to $2,992. The rest of those costs need to be raised by asking taxpayers to approve property tax levies.
