Ben Lindy
Ben Lindy
Ben Lindy has deep roots in Cincinnati and strong, personal ties to its school system. He was born here, spent the first 18 years of his life here and graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools. He is also the proud dad of Aaron Lindy and Lucy Lindy, two future CPS students.
Lindy brings 15 years of experience working in public education to the CPS board, and that experience has left him with an unshakable belief in what’s possible for all children. After graduating from Yale in 2003, he taught middle school social studies in North Carolina as a part of the Teach For America program, during which time he was nominated for the organization's award for excellence in teaching.
He went on to study education policy and law at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute and Yale Law School before leading new teacher hiring at the DC Public Schools. Most recently, he has served as the founding executive director of Teach For America in Southwest Ohio. In that capacity, he has helped recruit, train, and support more than 200 outstanding and diverse teachers in the region's low-income public schools.
