Our Mission

Project Connect collaborates with school communities and stakeholders to identify and remove educational barriers for Cincinnati Public Schools students and families experiencing homelessness. Through innovative, wraparound support, the program serves the whole child, addressing academic, social, emotional, and basic needs to promote stability and achieve optimal educational outcomes. Project Connect advances this work by providing advocacy, building awareness, connecting families to critical resources, and implementing meaningful enrichment opportunities.

The Need

Children represent the fastest-growing segment of the population experiencing homelessness. While families work to meet urgent health and safety needs, the educational needs of children are often disrupted, placing students at increased risk for academic instability and inequitable outcomes.

Founded in 1996, Project Connect provides advocacy, specialized educational services, and innovative wraparound support designed to remove barriers to learning and improve educational outcomes. By coordinating school and community-based services that support the whole child, Project Connect helps students remain engaged in school and positioned for success. Each year, Cincinnati Public Schools serves over 4,000 students experiencing homelessness, and Project Connect remains committed to advancing educational access, stability, and optimal outcomes for every student served.
