Woodward Career Technical High School's new pre-apprenticeship program has earned it recognition as Duke Energy’s School of the Week. Students are working on building a house on Ryland Avenue as the first of two homes they will construct outside the classroom to gain real-life construction experience.
The students experiences not only teach them about construction, but finances, through managing the construction budget, how to manage their time, and team work. The objective is for students to leave high school prepared for employment in the much needed sector of craftsman.
