Student Exchange Program Seeks Students for Taiwan Trip

December 12, 2019

An information session about the student exchange program with New Taipei City, Taiwan, will be held Monday, December 16, at Walnut Hills High School.

The Cincinnati-New Taipei City Sister City Committee is recruiting students in grades 10-12 to travel to Taiwan June 5-20, 2020. Cost per student is $2,700; some scholarships and fundraising help are available.

Cincinnati Public Schools' students and students from surrounding school districts are invited to come on the trip. Cincinnati-area students stay with host families and attend school with Taiwanese students, who speak English.

Cincinnati's student exchange program with New Taipei City began in April 2013, when 30 high school students from New Taipei City spent a month visiting Cincinnati and surrounding school districts, staying in the homes of host families. Since then, numerous inbound and outbound trips have been conducted.

The visits are designed with fun and educational experiences, aimed at broadening Cincinnati-area students' international knowledge and world views.

The information session is from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, December 16, 2019, in the conference room at Walnut Hills High School, 3250 Victory Pkwy, 45207 (enter campus from Blair Avenue off Montgomery Road).
