There was a big night to celebrate some of Cincinnati's own at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards show.
Regina King won the best supporting actress in a drama for the movie, "If Beale Street Could Talk." King was born in Cincinnati and her family later moved to California. She still has connections to Greater Cincinnati.
Another Cincinnati native is receiving generous reviews for her lead role in the same film.
Kiki Layne made her feature film debut in the critically acclaimed movie.
Layne said she feels extremely blessed and thankful.
She beat out more than 300 people to land the film’s starring role. This a long way from her days at the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, where her dreams of becoming a star began.
