Sands Montessori fifth-grader Madelyn Gerker is on a crusade to help make the route to school safer by installing sidewalks. Madelyn asked the board to update its Safe Routes to School plan during a Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education meeting.
Madelyn’s walk to school is a short one, but with no sidewalks can often be dangerous with speeding cars. Madelyn first wrote a letter to Mayor John Cranley and Cincinnati City Council expressing her concerns. Read more to see what the city is doing to help.
