The number of students experiencing homelessness in the Tri-State may shock you.
Cincinnati Public Schools says 3,000 of its students don't have a place to call home, but that didn't stop one local teen from overcoming the obstacles.
It's picture perfect: high school graduation, surrounded by friends and loved ones. This is a huge moment for Destiny Lewis, a 2019 Taft High School graduate.
Lewis' vivid descriptions and knack for words are talents she discovered while working with Project Connect. It's run by CPS to help students who are homeless.
She not only has her high school diploma, but a full-ride scholarship to Miami University in Oxford.
