Daily Mindfulness Program Helps Begin the Day

After morning announcements, thousands of Cincinnati-area students are beginning their school days with four minutes of quiet reflection and music to help start their day. This is Mindful Music Moments, a program created by Cincinnatian Stacy Sims, an author, educator and playwright whose career has been defined by a series of inventive programs intended to encourage meaningful social engagement.

The program traces its beginnings to a daily mindfulness program Sims created for Cincinnati’s Academy of World Languages. It was designed to help with reducing, anxiety and depression and challenging behavior.
