Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) launched My Tomorrow: Vision 2020, a comprehensive, multiyear plan to strengthen neighborhood schools and ensure that Cincinnati’s future workforce is ready for success.
Last year, CPS asked the Cincinnati community to share its top priority for public education, and the feedback was nearly unanimous — strengthening the district’s neighborhood elementary schools. CPS answered the call with the creation of My Tomorrow: Vision 2020, a robust, multiyear plan that adds quality programming to ensure that all schools are good schools and that all students have opportunities for excellence. The initiative launched in 2016-17 by embedding Arts & Culture, Gifted Education, High Technology, Environmental Science and Student Enterprise (entrepreneurship) programs at seven neighborhood elementary schools. Each program was created with community input, and is aligned to neighborhood resources and priorities. But, it isn’t limited to neighborhood elementary schools.
My Tomorrow: Vision 2020 also ensures that our high school students graduate on time and well-prepared with the real-world knowledge and skills they’ll need to be successful in the workforce.
