CPS Seeking Community Members for District’s Audit Committee

Cincinnati Public Schools is looking for volunteers to join the district's Audit Committee.

The role of the CPS Audit Committee is to assist the Board of Education in ensuring that both external and internal audit functions and other accountability matters receive adequate oversight.

According to CPS Board Policy No. 6835, the Audit Committee consists of the three members of the Board of Education's Finance Committee and no more than ten people from the community who are not CPS employees. The Board of Education appoints community members for staggered three-year terms. At least one member of the Audit Committee must be a Certified Public Accountant.

The Audit Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday every other month from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at CPS’ Education Center, 2651 Burnet Avenue, 45219 (Corryville), for a total of six required meetings per year.

To apply, please email your resume and completed application to two people: Phyllis Davis, Administrative Assistant to the Board of Education and Lauren Roberts, Director of Internal Audit.

Deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

The Board-approved candidate joins the Audit Committee as an active member at its February 26, 2020, meeting.
