CPS to Immigrant, Refugee Students: We Stand By You

February 1, 2017

Dear Cincinnati Public Schools Family:

The immigration policies recently announced by the White House have caused great concern not only for immigrant families, but also countless others across this country and throughout our world. Cincinnati Public Schools is proud to serve a diverse population of students. Our students, parents and staff come from more than 100 nations, and each day, dozens of different languages are heard in the hallways and classrooms of our schools. We are so proud of this diversity.

To all of our students who are immigrants or refugees – and to their friends, classmates and teachers who also are concerned by these recent events – know that you belong here and Cincinnati Public Schools stands by you.

We remain fully committed to ensuring that you receive a high quality education that will prepare you for success in high school, college and your career of choice. We want to see you have fun, make friends and discover your creative gifts. We want to be there to celebrate that day when you walk across a stage to receive your diploma.

Cincinnati Public Schools is your school family. When you show up at our schools – no matter where you were born, what religion you practice or what language you speak – know that we stand by you, and this is where you belong.
