(Cincinnati) – The Cincinnati Public School District Board of Education announced its process for filling the Board vacancy created by the resignation of Lannis Timmons on May 2.
Applications for the Board vacancy will be available at www.cps-k12.org at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 8.
In addition to the application, interested applicants should submit a cover letter, names and contact information for three references, and a résumé. All submitted materials are subject to the Ohio Open Records Law. Materials should be remitted to the Board Secretary Phyllis Davis by noon, Friday, May 18.
The Board announced they will meet in Executive Session to review applications and identify candidates for interviews on Monday, May 21. The Board will conduct interviews on Friday, May 25; applicants should be prepared to possibly participate in an interview that day.
The Board will announce its appointment no later than Friday, June 1.
Timmons was appointed in October 2017 to replace Mr. A. Chris Nelms, who passed away. The newly appointed member would serve the remainder of the term Nelms was elected to service, through December 2019. The appointee would be eligible to run for election in November 2019.
The Board is required by statute to fill the position within thirty days – in this case no later than June 1, 2018.
