Complete the 2020 U.S. Census — And Be Counted

March 25, 2020

Cincinnati Public Schools is encouraging all families to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census to help ensure our district receives federal money that directly benefits our students.

For the first time, you can respond to the U.S. Census online, by phone or by mail.

For details, visit 2020census.gov.

Note: Deadline to respond to the 2020 U.S. Census has been extended to August 14, 2020. The dates for mobile assistance have been changed to April 13 to August 14, 2020.

It is important that our students and their families are counted because the census is a starting point for determining federal funding priorities for special education, teacher training, technology enhancements, school lunch assistance, Head Start, after-school programs and more.

Based on recent estimates, there are about 21,182 children living in the city of Cincinnati who are younger than 5 years of age. There are another 66,000 children who are younger than age 18. Making sure all these children are counted is vital to properly plan and prepare for their futures.
