Aiken New Tech High School Named ‘School of Distinction’
Aiken New Tech High School has been selected as a CFES (College For Every Student) School of Distinction based on its performance during the 2016-17 school year.
In a letter acknowledging the honor, Tara Smith, CFES VP of Programs said, “Achievement of School of Distinction status is testimony that Aiken not only developed and executed an exemplary plan for its CFES Scholars, but also involved the entire school in the CFES core practices of Mentoring, Leadership Through Service, and Pathways.”
In order to be considered for the School of Distinction title, a school must meet a strict set of criteria, including implementing programs for the entire school and involving Scholar families in activities. Achieving CFES School of Distinction status is a collaborative effort with the purpose of helping all students become college and career ready.
Congratulations to the students and staff of Aiken!
