Carpe Diem Announcement — Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Carpe Diem closing?
Carpe Diem will close at the end of the 2017-18 school year as a result of the end of the school’s partnership with its sponsor, Cincinnati Public Schools. The closure of Carpe Diem was the result of a decision in February 2018 by the Ohio Department of Education to assume the sponsorship of the school.
The closure of Carpe Diem is not a result of any academic programming or the quality of education the students received at the school.
I’m a parent of a Carpe Diem student. What happens now that Carpe Diem has announced its closing?
Most importantly, your student will be able to finish the 2017-18 School Year at Carpe Diem. For the 2018-19 School Year, you have the option to enroll your student at another CPS High School. Note that some CPS High Schools have special admission requirements; a CPS enrollment team member can help explain these options to you.
Who can I talk to if I have questions about community or charter schools within CPS?
