To report an absent child, call the school office.
All absences MUST be reported to the school office at (513) 363-1400 by 8:30 a.m. and verified with a note upon the student’s return to school. Absences will be considered “unexcused” until the parent/guardian contacts the school.
Any students that arrive after 7:50 a.m. should report to the main office to get a late slip before going to their classroom.
Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself (Olweus Bullying Prevention Program).
Cincinnati Public Schools Board Policy 5517.01 states that bullying, harassment, and intimidation, of any student, by any means, by any student or school personnel, on school property, at a school-sponsored event, or on school-provided transportation, is strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action, including the possibility for suspension or expulsion, will be taken against any student found responsible for harassment, intimidation, or bullying.
Student behavior that distracts bus drivers is a hazard to the vehicle's safe operation, and jeopardizes the safety and welfare of all passengers. Misbehavior while on a yellow school bus or a Metro bus can result in disciplinary action for the student or the suspension of transportation service for the student. Read more about ourrequirements for student behavior on buses.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones and entertainment electronics, such as headphones, CD players, pagers, video games, radios, MP3 players, etc. are not permitted during the school day. Students are responsible for turning off all of these items. Any item a staff member finds that it being used or turned on will be confiscated and stored in the office. Parents may pick up the item the next day.
All students are charged an Instructional Materials Fee. You will receive a letter concerning this fee with the first day packet. Board policy requests that all student fees be paid in full by early October. Unpaid fees can impact student’s participation in school-related activities. Please fill out the fee form and return to school. In some cases fees are waived based on household information.
Snow Days and School Delays
Snow days and school delays are announced on our website, local TV and radio stations, CPS' mobile app, and through automated phone calls. Assume school is open unless you hear otherwise. Learn more about CPS'severe weather and emergency closing procedures.
We welcome visits from parents and guardians. However, to protect student safety, all visitors must sign in at the main office and wear a visitor's badge. Parents/guardians who would like a conference with their child's teacher must schedule an appointment with the teacher.
