Absence Procedures
It is critical for students to attend school every day on time to be successful learners. It is important for students to learn at an early age the responsibility of being on time and daily attendance. The Ohio School Compulsory Attendance Law (Ohio Revised Code 3321.01) requires all students ages 6 to 18 to attend school on a regular basis. Students presenting attendance problems are referred to the court by the school Social Worker. Parents of children may be referred to the Department of Human Services or the Hamilton County Juvenile Court for failing to comply with the state Compulsory Attendance Law.
A parent/guardian must report an absence by between 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. by:
- Calling the school's main office at (513) 363-9800 or
- Emailing us using this Absence Reporting Form.
Let us know if your child will be absent for a prolonged period of time or if your child is absent because of a communicable disease. Upon returning to school, the student must provide a note that must include the following:
- Date the note is written
- Student's homeroom
- Date(s) student was absent
- The specific reason for the absence
- Parent/guardian's signature, and phone number where parent/guardian may be reached
Tardy Procedures
Students are encouraged to develop the discipline of being on time every day. School begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom once the 7:45 a.m. bell rings. Tardy slips will be issued in the main office beginning at 8:00 a.m. and for the remainder of the school day. A student is considered tardy if he/she arrives late or leaves early.

- A shirt with fabric that covers the front, back and on the sides under the arms
