About Pleasant Ridge Montessori School
-
Cincinnati Public Schools has a long and successful history of establishing public Montessori schools. Pleasant Ridge Montessori is the newest of these, and the first neighborhood (non-magnet) Montessori elementary school in the district.
The changeover to the Montessori method began with the 2006–07 school year, and was implemented in stages. This implementation is now complete. The dedicated teachers at Pleasant Ridge Montessori are fully trained in the Montessori Method.
Admission is open to all children in PreKindergarten through sixth grade that reside in Amberley Village, Golf Manor, Pleasant Ridge, and parts of Columbia Township, Kennedy Heights and Silverton. Please see enrollment for more information.
To offer every neighborhood child a quality Montessori education, collaborating with community partners in a peaceful and environmentally-conscious setting, which nurtures a lifelong love of learning.

Environment
To continue the implementation of a healthy and sustainable environment throughout the school and surrounding communities and neighborhoods.
Community
To create a Community Learning Center at PRM with the active participation of parents, extended families, community members (or neighbors) and partners.
Peace
To develop an awareness and practice in each child and adult at PRM that incorporates the values of peace: kindness, compassion and mutual respect.

In turn, the child learns patience, tolerance, respect and an appreciation for other perspectives, affording him/her academic success in 7th grade and beyond.
Diversity
To ensure that the school/student population reflects neighborhood demographics in terms of race, ethnicity, and socioeconomics.
Vision
PRM is a model for the nation as a premier public urban neighborhood school noted for its diverse and peaceful environment, community involvement, and outstanding student outcomes.

Community Learning Centers
For our schools to transform, our communities must be revitalized. For our communities to revitalize, our schools must be transformed. They are dependent on each other and Community Learning Centers.
What is a Community Learning Center (CLC)?
Schools and the communities they serve are closely linked. Seldom does one succeed without the success of the other. That's why our CLCs support student achievement, enrich and revitalize communities, and maximize the community's return on their financial investment.
We are very proud to be a CLC and a neighborhood anchor. We strive to go beyond academics to focus on the whole child by serving as a hub for community services that are available to all students, their families and the entire community. We are able to offer a variety services thanks to the collaboration and support of our many partners and the committed community of Pleasant Ridge.
Our Resource Coordinator
Angela Robertshaw is the Resource Coordinator for Pleasant Ridge Montessori.
The key component of a CLC is the partners who provide services and support. To manage and align these valuable partnerships, our full-time, on-site Resource Coordinator, Angela Robertshaw, plays an integral role in the success of the Community Learning Center.
To learn more about the services available at our school or how your company or organization can become a CLC partner or volunteer, please contact Angela Robertshaw at (513) 363-4400 or via email.
