Winton Hills Academy 4th/5th Grade Team Shines at Xavier Men’s Basketball Halftime

Winton Hills Academy’s 4th/5th grade basketball team enjoyed a memorable and exciting opportunity on Monday night as they took the court at the Xavier University Men’s Basketball game to play during halftime at the Cintas Center.

For many of the students, this was their first time attending a college basketball game—let alone performing in front of thousands of fans. The experience provided an unforgettable moment to showcase their skills, represent their school with pride, and enjoy the atmosphere of a premier college sports venue.

The event was made possible through the leadership and coordination of Winton Hills resource coordinator Shelby Zimmer and Burt Hill, Winton Hills Academy’s head basketball coach and a full-time Cincinnati Public Schools teacher who consistently goes above and beyond for his students.

“Seeing our kids step onto the court with so much confidence and joy was something I’ll never forget,” said Coach Hill. “Opportunities like this show them that hard work can take you places—and I’m incredibly proud of the way they represented Winton Hills Academy and our community.”

The Winton Hills Academy community and Cincinnati Public Schools extend their gratitude to Xavier University for welcoming the students and providing a platform that inspires young athletes to dream big.
