The Sunday Scoop - September 2024

Hello and welcome back!

As September unfolds, we find ourselves a month into the start of a great school year. I’m delighted to witness the growth and learning taking place in our schools.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated educators and staff, whose hard work is instrumental in setting the tone for a successful year. It’s heartening to see our students engaging with new challenges and opportunities, and I’m excited about what the rest of the year has in store.

We’re continuously working to enhance our programs and ensure equitable opportunities for all of our students. Your feedback and involvement are essential, and I encourage you to stay connected and engaged with Cincinnati Public Schools throughout this year.

CPS Treasurer Retiring; Search for Replacement Begins

CPS announces the upcoming retirement of Treasurer Jennifer Wagner, who has served the District for more than 30 years. The Board will begin the process to find her successor. Retirement effective Sept. 1, 2025.

Walnut Hills Entrance Exam

CPS students in grades 7-11 and non-CPS students in grades 6-11 can now register for the WHEE. All CPS 6th graders test at school this fall and don't need to register. Deadlines vary.

Cincinnati Public Schools Announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Fourteen outstanding Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) alumni and coaches will be inducted into the CPS Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Their accomplishments span a variety of sports including cross country, football, basketball, baseball, tennis, track, volleyball, gymnastics and swimming.
