Don Jordan’s Journey from West High to Cincinnati’s Finest

Don Jordan is a dedicated professional who has made a significant impact on his community. A proud alumnus of Western Hills University High School, Don was always committed to serving and protecting his community. After graduating from West High, he pursued his passion for law enforcement and became a police officer.

• What CPS schools did you attend?
  • ​​​​​​​ I am a proud 1988 graduate of Western Hills University High School.
• What are you doing now?
  • After I graduated, I earned a law enforcement degree from Cincinnati State and took some additional undergraduate courses at Xavier University. I have been serving the wonderful citizens of Cincinnati since 2001 as a Cincinnati police officer.
• Was there anyone from your time at school who influenced you? How so?
  • While at West High, Karl Holloway, my history teacher, quickly became my favorite teacher. He motivated me to dream about going to school and even having a traditional family. After graduation, our relationship flourished into one of mentor and mentee. He was an awesome mentor. Mr. Holloway was the first person to tell me I should marry my then-girlfriend and now wife. He was the first person I told when we were expecting our son. We discussed everything of importance in my life.
• What advice do you have for current students?
  • The advice I have for today's students is: work hard now so you can enjoy your life later.
• What’s your favorite school memory?
  • What I loved most about attending West High was the lifelong relationships I developed with some amazing people. The Class of '88 was by far West High's best class ever! We had some amazing teachers as well, like Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Saylor, to name a few.
• Where do you live now?
  • ​​​​​​​ Cincinnati, Ohio
• Fun facts about yourself?
  • One fun fact about myself is that I am a co-producer of a fatherhood documentary titled, "Presence Over Presents," which can be viewed on YouTube.
