CPS to Reopen Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026

Cincinnati Public Schools will reopen for normal classes on Thursday, January 29, 2026, after a three-day weather closure. Safety remains the priority for our students and staff. Following checks of buildings, transportation and conditions, CPS is ready to resume instruction.

“We are eager to welcome our students back, and we need the community’s help to make their commute safe,” said Superintendent Shauna Murphy. “Please clear sidewalks and salt icy patches today.”

What to know for Thursday

• Yellow bus service will operate on normal schedules. Minor delays are possible on icy side streets.
• Facilities teams have classrooms warmed and ready.
• Families should allow extra travel time and dress for cold temperatures.

How to help today

• Clear the full width of public sidewalks.
• Ensure sidewalks and curb ramps near bus stops are passable.
• Check on neighbors who may need assistance.
• Do not pile snow to block crosswalks or bus loading zones.
