CPS School Health Manager Earns Statewide Award

CPS School Health Manager Earns Statewide Award

In school-based health care, showing up every day for students takes grit — and CPS School Health Manager Angie Maddox embodies it. Her leadership in strengthening access to care for CPS students earned her the 2025 Ohio G.R.I.T. Administrator Award.

The prestigious honor from Ohio School-Based Health Alliance, in partnership with the national School-Based Health Alliance (SBHA), recognizes leaders who demonstrate G.R.I.T. – Genuine, Resilient, Innovative and Tenacious contributions to school-based health care.

Maddox has strengthened school-based health systems to ensure students receive comprehensive care that supports their well-being and academic success.

“I am incredibly honored to receive the G.R.I.T. award from the Ohio School-Based Health Alliance, but this recognition truly belongs to our entire school health team. In school-based health, being resilient and tenacious isn’t a solo endeavor; it requires a collective commitment to showing up for our students every single day,” Maddox said. “This award validates our shared passion for breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that every child has the healthy foundation they need to learn, grow and thrive.”

Maddox was formally recognized at the Ohio Alliance’s 2026 Annual School-Based Health Care Conference in Columbus. This School-Based Health Care Awareness Month, join us in congratulating Angie Maddox on her well-deserved recognition!
