Aiken High School Hosts Vibrant Showcase for Hispanic Heritage Month

Aiken High School Hosts Vibrant Showcase for Hispanic Heritage Month

From lively performances to a vibrant fashion show, Aiken High School is embracing the rich traditions of Hispanic culture.

The school celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a Culture Showcase, bringing together students, families and community members for an engaging evening of music, dance and fashion.

Attendees were treated to a display of student talent, providing a platform for cultural expression and community collaboration.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase our cultural backgrounds and have others acknowledge what we’re proud of,” Aiken High School teacher Susan McElroy shared. “This is the first of its kind for Hispanic Heritage Month, and it’s been a wonderful chance for students to share their culture and feel seen.”

Local organizations, including Su Casa, Catholic Charities, the Community Resource Center (CRC), the Immigrant and Refugee Law Center and Santa Maria, participated in the event, highlighting the importance of community support in celebrating cultural diversity.
