Biotechnology

Program Description

Biotechnology lies in the realm of medical research and lab science, leading to a wealth of careers in such fields as pharmacy and research technology, quality control analysis, and forensic science. Students learn how to interpret laboratory requests, use protective clothing and hazardous material containment, collect specimens, use a variety of laboratory testing and techniques, and more. They also gain skills in such lab processes as DNA isolation, bacterial cell culture and gel electrophoresis as well as the scientific research process.
