Kudos to the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Lab at Hughes STEM High School
Cincinnati’s CET Public Broadcast Station selected two stories produced by Hughes’ Lab for inclusion in an online series called Outside the Box.
The first story, Just as Strong, aired January 27, 2016, and highlighted Woodward Career Technical High School students Channell Rogers and Sierra Buster, who refused to let gender stereotypes prevent them from pursing their construction aspirations.
The second story, Prototypically Me, featured Walnut Hills High School student Dimple Dhawan, who was the only girl on the school's robotics’ team and became team captain, president and lead designer.
Kudos to Hughes teacher Melissa Sherman and her students for these outstanding stories!
Kudos to Erin Dean, teacher at Sands Montessori School
Ms. Dean was recognized as the Professional Educator of the Week by Warm 98 radio on February 4, 2016. The story aired on WLWT-TV-Channel 5 and on Warm 98.
Kudos, Erin, for what you do for the children of Cincinnati Public Schools.
Kudos to Dean Giacometti, former Walnut Hills High School football coach and Latin teacher
Mr. Giacometti turned 96 years old on January 27, 2016. Mr. Giacometti began teaching and coaching at Walnut Hills in 1947.
Thank you for your many years of service, as you not only coached and taught students, but you showed them compassion, gave them encouragement, motivated them and made a tremendous difference in many of their lives.
Kudos to Cincinnati Public Schools for, once again, becoming a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite
CPS has received this yearly recognition from the American Heart Association in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The award is based on the District’s employee-wellness program that helps build a culture of wellness and provides employees with more options to make healthy choices. The award will be presented on Sunday, March 13, at the Heart Mini on Fountain Square.
Kudos to Superintendent Ronan for her advocacy in the health of CPS’ employees!
