Mr. Dean Bryson

Mr. Dean Bryson is serving his first year as an Assistant Principal of Robert A. Taft IT High School in Cincinnati, OH.  Mr. Bryson earned a BA from Bowling Green State University (2011), an MA from Howard University (2013), and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. 

Mr. Bryson is in his tenth year as an educator and third year at Robert A. Taft IT High School. He is from Cleveland, OH, where he taught science and math from 2013-2020. Among a pool of over 300 nominated teachers, he was one of ten teachers awarded a 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Between 2016-2019, he trained new teachers in pedagogical skills, grounded with an equity lens for Teach For America’s Houston and Philadelphia’s Summer Institutes.

In 2020, Mr. Bryson joined Cincinnati Public Schools and Taft HS as a fellow of the Cincinnati School Leaders Fellowship. The program sponsored the completion of his EdM in Public School Building Leadership from Columbia University Teacher College in 2021. Mr. Bryson is thrilled to continue at Taft IT High School, his Cincinnati home, serving our Senator community that he has grown to love! He is an educator because he believes education is the most direct way to combat societal inequities.

Ms. Dorothy James

Ms. Dorothy James has been an educator with Cincinnati Public Schools for 20 years and has served in the capacity of Assistant Principal and Principal for the last 10 years.  Prior to working for CPS, Ms. James  worked as a social worker for Hamilton County Job and Family Services.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, and then pursued an advanced degree and earned her Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Xavier University.  In 2011, she earned another Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.  She taught Social Studies/History in CPS until she became an Administrator in 2011.  

Ms. James is an advocate for social justice and strives to make a difference in the lives of others.
