Dwayne DuBois, an educator for 21 years, is a CPS alum, having graduated from Hughes in 1996.  Currently serving in his 6th year as assistant principal at Withrow, he holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Xavier University.  Mr. DuBois earned his Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee State University, where he was also a member of the men’s track & field team and the team’s representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Mr. DuBois began his career working for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools as a middle school math teacher and head coach for the boys track & field team at Jere Baxter Middle School. In 2004, he moved back home to Cincinnati, where he taught at a couple of community schools before landing at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy’s Armleder campus.  There he taught math, science, and Christian studies.  During this time, Mr. DuBois also coached his sons’ youth baseball and basketball teams.  His final teaching assignment before stepping into his current role was at Winton Woods Middle School, where he taught 8th grade math and AA Algebra I.

In his spare time, Mr. DuBois enjoys watching action movies and cheering on his children at their athletic events.  He and Alicia, his wife of 19 years, have three children.  Gabriel is a sophomore at Lafayette College where he plays football.  Elijah is a sophomore at St. Xavier High School where he plays football also.  And Naomi is a volleyball player and track runner entering her freshman year at Walnut Hills High School.

Two quotes that Mr. DuBois lives by and does his best to instill in students are, “Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard,” and “Handle your business before your business handles you.”
