On April 30, 2007, the Cincinnati Public School District adopted a new transportation policy setting a deadline for parents requesting yellow bus service.
For the 2008-09 school year, this new policy change affects your child's transportation if any of the following apply:
If any of the situations above are true, parents should fill out the Request for Service form to make sure that your child has bus service on the first day of the 2008-09 school year.
Deadlines:
1. If the Request for Service form is submitted prior to May 31, 2008, bus service will be provided on the first day of school.
2. If the Request for Service form is submitted after May 31, 2008, and your child can be assigned to an existing bus stop, bus service will be provided on the first day of school.
3. If the Request for Service form is submitted after May 31, 2008, and your child cannot be assigned to an existing bus stop, bus service cannot be provided on the first day of school. Your child may ride the bus after the first re-route, effective September 16, 2008.
To support various Cincinnati Public Schools' initiatives designed to improve and stabilize educational services to students, the following changes to transportation policies and practices have been made:
The minimum distance from home to school to qualify for bus service was reduced to ¾ of a mile for elementary students. (The distance used to be one mile.)

If a student moves outside a school's attendance area during the school year, transportation service may be provided back to the original school for the remainder of the school year if desired.
If a school is relocated because of construction or renovation, transportation will be provided to the new location for all students. This means:
Requests for bus-stop locations to support child-care issues (deviated stops) will be continued from year to year unless a request to either cancel or change the service for the new school year is received from the parent/guardian.
Some changes have been made in the distribution of Metro passes for high-school students.
