The architects worked to preserve the school’s unique architectural elements and its status as a neighborhood landmark. Renovations will create a home for the International school in the building’s north side and for the University school on the south side. The school’s main entrance facing Madison Road, and the campus’ clock tower and arched bridge, will remain, but other inviting entrances also will be incorporated into the building’s rear closer to enlarged parking lots.

Gymansium

A new, 1,700-seat gymnasium will be built along the south side of the upgraded football field and track, all of which will be used by students from both schools. Withrow’s basketball teams have played off campus for years because the old gym was not regulation size.

Media Center

The original skylights will be uncovered in the school’s third-floor library during its renovation.

Cafeteria

The school's third floor also will hold a new kitchen and student cafeteria for use by both schools.
